Mercè Brey

"We are, above all, energetic beings. Managers of feminine and masculine energy. When they are in equilibrium, we evolve".
"Nowadays, it’s the company that has the ability to create a new reality. And companies are we the people.... and if people evolve, everything changes...".

A new vacation period is approaching and, given the circumstances the world is facing, the next few weeks can be a great opportunity to reflect and, better yet, start over.

Here are a series of titles that have helped me to ask myself questions and to find some of the answers. Enjoy them!

The goddesses of each woman. Jean Shinoda Bolen

An essential guide to understanding the patterns that dominates us as women. Understanding them means to release limiting beliefs in order to develop our full potential.

Urgent message to women. Jean Shinoda Bolen.

Shinoda forcefully confirms that we can change the path of domination and violence for a world of peace and collaboration and it encourages women to be protagonists of the new order.

Man’s Search for Meaning. Viktor Frankl.

“No one can take our inner freedom away, it is what gives intention and meaning to our existence”. VF. A masterpiece. An ode to a meaningful life.

The society of fatigue. Byung-Chul Han

Chul Han says that we live in a performance society, a society that encourages people to exploit themselves. According to him, we are both executioners and victims of our own self-demand. A book that is difficult to digest, but encourages reflection.

From animals to gods. Yuval Noah Harari.

Masterfully questions what we thought we knew about the human being: origin, beliefs and attachment to power, and so on. The author disturbingly wonders what our future as a species might be.

The power of Now. Eckhart Tolle

Tolle affirms that it is possible to live free of suffering, anxiety and neurosis. Problems are not created by others, but by everyone with their incessant flow of thoughts, memories of the past and concerns for the future.

The four Agreements. Dr. Miguel Ruiz

Be impeccable with your words, don’t take anything personally, don’t make assumptions, and always do the best you can. Four simple, but profound agreements with oneself, enormously useful to break ties and servitudes.

About dialogue. David Bohm

Dialogue goes far and beyond chatting and exchanging information. Bohm maintains that the most important thing about dialogue is that it explores the way in which thought is collectively generated and sustained. Thus, it is a powerful tool to jointly investigate the development possibilities of humanity. It is a reading must.

Tuesdays with my old professor. Mitch Albom

A teacher and his student meet again after 20 years. The teacher, suffering from ALS, and the student, committed to a life of material success. Until the end of his days, the student visits his old teacher every Tuesday. A life lesson every Tuesday, a learning experience of what it truly means to give meaning to our existence.

My story. Michelle Obama.

I was surprised by the fresh and forthcoming tone with which the former first lady shares her vision of what it means to be a woman and black in the United States.

Women that run with the wolves. Clarissa Pinkola Estes

The author describes the wild essence that every woman treasures. Hand in hand with stories, metaphors and personal reflections, she shells off the domestication that women have suffered throughout time.

The little prince. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Brilliant. Not a single sentence without profound meaning.
